YOU'VE GOT QUESTIONS.
WE'VE GOT ANSWERS.

Why Salty Badger?

We are four University of Wisconsin grads who love the Badgers and love the sea. Breaking the Badger out of its habitat captures the freeing spirit of a salty sea getaway—even for locals.

Should we tip?

Captains work hard to show you a fabulous time. It is customary to tip 20% and much appreciated!

Can we drink alcohol on the boat?

Yes! Bring whatever drinks you would like to enjoy. Cans and plastic only—for safety, we do not allow glass on the boat.

What should we bring?

Non-spray sunscreen, a towel, food and drinks (cans and plastic only, no glass). Protective sun shirts are also recommended. If you want to go for a hike on one of the islands, bring appropriate footwear.

What do we need to go to the British Virgin Islands?

Due to new regulations, we are not currently chartering in the BVI.

What is the time frame for half-day and full-day charters?

Half-day charters are usually between 8:30-12:00 or 1:00-4:30 AST and 9:00-4:00 EST for a full day. We're happy to make adjustments based on your schedule.

What is included in the cost?

The charter fee includes a private boat and a certified captain. Fuel and tip are not included.

How much does fuel typically cost?

It depends on how far you go and how rough the water is. A typical range is $115-$215. You can discuss budget with your captain who can suggest a fitting itinerary.

What is your cancellation policy?

If cancelled more than 5 days in advance of your charter, you will receive a full refund. For cancellations less than 5 days prior, there is a $150 fee for half day bookings and a $200 fee for full day bookings.
